What's New: Adoption process: Starting at 12pm there will be one appointment per hour for dog adoptions or 2 appointments per hour for cat adoptions. Please call ahead to schedule your appointment time. In order to make an appointment you must first fill out an adoption application and submit it to the shelter either in person, via fax or through email. All potential adoptors who rent their home must provide proof of landlord approval at their scheduled appointment (i.e. a phone number where they can be reached or a current rental contract that shows that an animal deposit as been paid) All family members, including current pets (dogs) must come to the shelter to assess compatability. The last appointment will be taken one hour before closing.

The Chico Canine Carnival is a family and pet-friendly community event, which is quickly becoming a much loved annual event- and YOU’RE INVITED to come join in the fun!
Enjoy a full day of fun with pets, food, and kids’ activities, with cool canine contests and demonstrations that celebration the love between humans and their best friends! Well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome.
