Congregational Church of Chico

In Brief: The United Church of Christ gives its individual members a great deal of freedom in matters of belief. We do not have a set of beliefs that members must agree with, or say they agree with, in order to be a member. At the same time, we are a Christian church, and we believe that in the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God's love and grace is revealed to the whole world. The UCC does have a Statement of Faith which summarizes what we share as basic to Christian faith. We think it is a beautiful statement. We use it from time to time at the Congregational Church of Chico, UCC, as a way of summarizing what we believe. Still, in the spirit of freedom that is so important to us, we do not require or expect everyone to agree with every part of the Statement of Faith. Perhaps you will find it as helpful as we do. Our pastor will gladly respond to any questions you have about what we believe.
