The very name “CITIZENS UNITED” (The Supreme Court ruling that gave “person” status to corporations) would only be a sad irony were it not for the fact that it is one more striking evidence that we do live in an Orwellian society where “War is Peace” and “Freedom is Slavery”.
We need at least 150 people to attend next week’s Chico City Council meeting! We want to fill up the chamber with supporters, so that City Counsel members know we DO NOT want BIG CORP involved in local politics and telling us how to spend our money!

GROW FOOD WORKSHOPS: SEEDS & GREENHOUSE CARE – Sat. Feb. 25, 2012
Cultivating Community is offering a series of free workshops for local folks interested in growing their own food. This session will be an introduction to seed starting and greenhouse/cold frame work.

You’ll learn about potting mixes, techniques for different plant families, and how to tend teeny, tiny baby plants.

PEACE & JUSTICE CENTER: garden work – May 23, 2010
The Chico Peace & Justice Center’s Peace Garden Team is gearing up for our annual Spring Clean-Up day… and you are invited to join us!
The Peace Garden Clean-Up day is scheduled for Sunday, May 23rd from 9am-12noon at the CPJC. We will be doing some serious spring cleaning and planting.
What to bring: YOU! garden gloves, hat, sunscreen and a water bottle.
We are in need of the following supplies for our work day: heavy-duty clear plastic for our greenhouse, trucks for dump runs, and veggie/flower starts.
Your green thumbs, strong muscles and peaceful hearts are needed to make this clean-up day a success!
