GREY WATER WORKSHOP – Sat. Jan. 28, 2012, 10:45 am

Where: Arbutus Ave., Chico (please, RSVP for exact address)

When: Saturday January 28, 2012 from 10:45 am till 4:00pm (with Lunch)

What: Participants learn about greywater basics through a one hour lecture, and then are led through the design and installation of one type of greywater system (a laundry to landscape system). In small groups that rotate, participants learn about the plumbing, the landscaping, and the materials needed for the installation. All skill levels are welcome and people who have less hands-on experience are encouraged to practice using tools in a safe, supportive, learning environment.

Why: You will learn how to divert water that would usually go into the sewers into your yard. This saves you money, time and the environment.

Stephanie and Tim of GRUB went down to Oakland for one of these workshops and have said it was one of the best. They learned so much and had a great time.

Fee: Sliding scale of $20-$50.

FREE COMPOSTING WORKSHOP IN CHAPMAN TOWN – Sat. Jan. 14, 2012

When: Saturday January 14, 2012 from 1 to 3 pm

Learn everything to start making your own compost at home today. This is the second 2012 workshop organized by “Cultivating Community” in Chapman Town. These workshops are free and open to the general public. ELECTRIC CAR CLUB (CHICO CHAPTER, EAA) MEETING – Sat. Jan. 14 2012, 10am

We will have our first Electric Car Club meeting of the year this Saturday, January 14 2012 at 10am. The location will be at:

27 Rose Ave., Chico, CA (Brandstatt Brothers Shop).

This is your opportunity to come and choose meeting topics for 2012. We really want to hear your ideas for future meetings. Having more electric cars on the road is very important for the well being of our country. So please come and tell us how we can get people excited about owning and driving electric cars.

The second part of our meeting is “hands-on”. We are going to begin the conversion of a Chevy LUV pickup from gas engine power to electric motor power. Bring your work clothes and help strip this vehicle down to the basics. If you just want to watch, that’s great too. Our goal is to get this pickup running on electricity by summer.

See you this Saturday at 10am.
