ABOUT THE PERMACULTURE DESIGN COURSE

The Permaculture Design Certificate course is an internationally-recognized course resulting in a Permaculture Design Certificate. While the course minimums are 72 hours, we are offering you a more in depth 90 hour 2 week intensive (with Halloween off) so that you may truly apply your permaculture skills as a graduate. The course covers sustainable living systems for a wide variety of landscapes and climates. It includes the application of permaculture principles to food production, home design/ construction, energy conservation/generation, and explores alternative economic structures and legal strategies supporting permaculture solutions. The Committee on Arts and Lectures, E-ARC, and SCOOP are hosting Riki Ott (www.rikiott.com). Riki Ott is a marine biologist who became a fisherma’am in Alaska in 1985. Four short years later the Exxon Valdez oil spill (EVOS) occurred. The tragedy effected the environments and communities of the Prince William Sound. Riki Ott will talk about her experience working with the communities and the 20 year law suit with Exxon.

Ott is the author of Not One Drop: Betrayal and Courage in the Wake of EVOS and Sound Truth and Corporate Myths. She holds a doctorate in Marine Toxicology
